South Carolina contractor examWho gives it, fees, retakes
South Carolina's contractor license needs a passing exam score, given by PSI and NASCLA.
What is on the South Carolina contractor exam?
- Who gives it
- PSI, NASCLA1
- The exam
- You must pass the South Carolina Business Management and Law for Commercial Contractors exam through PSI, plus a technical exam for most classifications (for example Wood Frame Structures, Roofing, Electrical, Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Heating). A few classifications such as Masonry and Highway Incidental have no technical exam. Holders of a qualifying license from certain other states can ask for a technical exam waiver, and NASCLA exams are accepted.1
Exam fee and retake rules: check with SC Contractors' Licensing Board (LLR).
How do you book the exam?
Apply to the LLR first. The board approves your application, then tells you how to schedule with the testing company (PSI and NASCLA). SC Contractors' Licensing Board (LLR)
